Why Catholic?

Judeo-Christians believe the old testament and that God would send a messiah to the Jewish people.

Jesus came along and indicated that He was the Messiah and the son of God. He worked many miracles and fulfilled the prophesies of the old testament with regard to the Messiah.

He resurrected after His death and appeared to hundreds days after His death.

He established the church under Peter and said that the gates of hell would not prevail against it and that the church would last until the end of the world.

The Catholic Church is that Church established by Jesus and carried on throughout the ages by the popes and the bishops.

Jesus prayed to His Father that we be one just as He and His Father was one. Shouldn't we be one church in Christ?

The church came before the New Testament and thus the Church is based on the traditions and leadership of the popes and bishops. The New Testament was inspired by God and the words were written by early Catholic Christians.

Both Islam and the Jews look at Jesus as a prophet yet they ignore His words that He was the Son of God.
